The Art of Living: A Neuroscience Based Approach to Inner Development And Well Being Kindle Edition

5.0 out of 5 stars 1 rating

‘The Art of Living’ is firmly based on the latest research and developments in neuroscience combined with the wisdom of the East. It combines this with the author's 40 years of training, experience and research in the fields of business, education, health and the arts to give the reader an opportunity to gain the knowledge and develop the skills necessary to be successful in their personal and professional and enjoy life to its fullest.

The book is filled with information and practical exercises that will allow the reader to deepen their knowledge and understanding of areas such as behavioural genetics, beliefs, values, how emotions are made, mindfulness, social psychology and interpersonal skills. With this new knowledge they'll be able to create the life they'd like to lead.

As Tomas Szasz wrote:

“People often say that this or that person has not yet found themselves. The self is not something one finds, it is something one creates.”

In today’s hectic pace of life there’s not enough thought given to focussing on our mental well-being and mindfulness, let alone dedicating the necessary time to develop and improve it. Am I introvert or extrovert? Optimist or pessimist? Spontaneous or controlled? Through careful analysis, research, life experience and use of examples, the author encourages us to identify our personality and carefully develop it in a positive manner.
Drawing on his skills as a psychoanalyst and physical therapist, his expertises and relaxation techniques are particularly beneficial.
