One Day With You: The MASSIVE chart-topping phenomenon from Shari Low Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 29,851 ratings

An unputdownable read from the No1 and Million Copy Bestseller.

One day, five lives, but whose heart will be broken by nightfall?

It started like any other day in the picturesque village of Weirbridge.

Tress Walker waved her perfect husband Max off to work, with no idea that she was about to go into labour with their first child. And completely unaware that when she tried to track Max down, he wouldn’t be where he was supposed to be.

At the same time, Max’s best friend Noah Clark said goodbye to his wife, Anya, blissfully oblivious that he would soon discover the woman he adored had been lying to him for years.

Living alongside the two couples, their recently widowed friend, Nancy Jenkins, is getting ready to meet Eddie, her first true love at a school reunion.
Will Nancy have the chance to rekindle an old flame, or will she choose to stay by Tress’s side when she needs her most?

One Day with You - two fateful goodbyes, two unexpected hellos, and 24 hours that change everything.

Perfect for the fans of Jojo Moyes, Beth Moran and Debbie Howells.

Shari Low

Dear Reader,

Thank you so much for landing on my book page!

I hope you will love what you find here. At the heart of all my novels is friendship, the kind of relationships between women (and sometimes men) that bonds them together in the good times and in the bad. My characters sometimes experience the worst of life – betrayal, broken relationships, illness, bereavement, heartbreak – but my stories are always about how they overcome those challenges with great friends, the kind who lift you up, tell you brutal truths and make you laugh, even in the moments when there isn’t much to smile about. They capture the very best things about being part of a friendship group or family that isn’t perfect but manages to survive heartaches and come out wiser, stronger and more sure than ever that the people who love them are on their side.

And always, they’re full of real laughter, real tears and real life.

Love,

Shari x

This book wrecked me

This book wrecked me
cw: Dementia, adultery, bereavement, trauma As a day unfolds in a small town near Glasgow, scandals, secrets, and potential new avenues of love are revealed. This book wrecked me. Told from four POVs over the course of a single day (Tress, Max, Nancy, and Noah), we discover the lies under the surface of two seemingly perfect marriages, the best and worst of friendships, and how new love is possible at any age. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say that I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster for the majority of this book, which is a testament to the writing. One minute I was crying laughing, the next I wanted to punch someone, and almost immediately after I was sobbing. I really loved Nancy and Val's friendship, and their backstories were beautifully written. They also had THE best sense of humour. I also ADORED Noah. He was such a calm, sweet, and caring man. And I think he spoke for all of us in chapter 28! I loved Tress's strength and courage. And Max? well, I cried, despite everything. Shari Low writes about everyday people of every age with such authenticity, capturing all of their good and bad characteristics perfectly, and this was no exception. Unputdownable. I really enjoyed this book and what a page turner it was. The only thing I felt that disappointed me a little was that I felt Nancy’s story was a little bit too detailed. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened with the main 4 - Anya&Noah, Max&Tress. This is a beautifully written story about love, loss, forgiveness and making the choice to move on. Very easy read as well. My first book written by Shari Lowe and it won’t be my last :)))

First time Shari Low reader. This book ripped my heart open and I don't think I've ever had so many emotions at once! I loved the format, a single day from different perspectives and it made this completely unique. It was heartbreaking, rage inducing and hilarious but very poignant. Absolutely brilliant book, just about to start the second.

From, its first few pages, it had me totally gripped. I loved the warmth and humanity that flows from friendships long forged throughout all the pages. Here is the kind of love we all long for, seek out, search for and, hopefully, get to experience and, at some time in our lives, thoroughly enjoy. It is at times hilariously funny and then, equally swiftly, unbelievably sad. The characters bounce along brilliantly and the tragedy at the heart of it is incredibly moving and so very real - I guarantee it will move you to tears. In fact, much of the book will have you crying tears of laughter and then sobbing at the frailty and sometimes brutality of what people can do to each other ... even very best friends. Brilliantly written, this is a drama so beautifully captured that I want to read again already! It's a really lovely lovely book and I feel very privileged to have come across it and read it. Enjoy. It is SUPERB!!

I think it was a good story but I didn’t think it was a 5 star story. It wasn’t the usual kind of story I like to read ,but it was highly recommended so I gave it a try. It was very repetitive in places

As usual Shari Low has an immense talent to write books, develop characters, and masterfully tie the little snippets from each chapter (either narrated by the different characters, held in different points in time, etc) into one amazing, intricate grand story. I’ve read quite a few of her books and all of them are compelling, to the point that every time I am reading one of her works, I am also spending 2 days battling to stay awake as I want to keep reading (her books are usually in the long side of rom coms). The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was after a light romantic reading but the plot in this was quite heavy. It still shows the human strength and the capacity of people to love, forgive, be kind to and support each other, so maybe that’s why it is described as an “uplifting” read. I kept going as I couldn’t stop reading, and really kept having high hopes but it certainly gave me some glooming feeling and my heart really ached for the characters. I wish it had a warning in the description on this as I am a highly sensitive person (therefore prefer light rom coms) and it is not easy dealing with heavy subjects (my imagination also goes awry with some passages as I can clearly depict the scenes - especially if it is so well written by authors like Shari)

I love Shari Low books. Have read them all and look forward to a new one but this is the best. As always, we have really good believable characters, some we have met before, just going through their lives. We have their struggles and laughs, lots of laughs, interspersed with real tragedy. I always laugh and cry with Shari's books and this is no exception. We have love, betrayal, dementia, birth, and death all in one novel. This one was extremely pacy and I found myself still reading in the wee small hours - I have the reading progress switched on for my kindle and there is nothing worse than looking down to see you are on 70% and there's not much left to read. Shari is not good for my beauty sleep. I would recommend any one to read this it's just wonderful and her best yet.
