4.8 out of 5 stars 775 ratings

Don't miss this original canon story set in the world of the Emmy Award-winning Netflix animated series The Dragon Prince, with story by the creators of the series and of the New York Times bestselling Through the Moon (The Dragon Prince Graphic Novel #1).

Every Moonshadow elf child knows the scary stories of the Bloodmoon Huntress, the evil sorceress who steals your blood on the night of the Harvest Moon. Everyone also knows those legends aren’t true.

But for young Rayla, whose parents recently left her behind to fulfill their duty as members of the elite Dragonguard, this autumn is scarier than most. Her guardians, Runaan and Ethari, are still getting the hang of the whole parenting thing, and no one will tell Rayla what Runaan does for a living. She spends most of her time exploring the forest outside the Silvergrove.

When Rayla discovers a young Skywing elf in danger just hours before the Harvest Moon will rise, the scary stories become real. Can she stop the Huntress before the moon reaches its zenith?

Fans won’t want to miss this exclusive, original graphic novel from Peter Wartman and Felia Hanakata, with story by The Dragon Prince creators Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond!

Review

Praise for Through the Moon (The Dragon Prince Graphic Novel #1):

"Wartman's scripting really excels is in the dialogue, capturing both the raw, unresolved emotions from Callum and Rayla and the animated series' underlying sense of humor. Bouma's art soars both in bringing the characters' emotions to visual life and the more magical elements of the story." -- CBR.com

Praise for The Dragon Prince on Netflix:

"The Dragon Prince offers viewers a rich and suggestive world that's teeming with possibilities about what might be happening beyond the frame." -- The Verge

"The Dragon Prince Is a Fantasy Knockout." -- Phoenix New Times

When the book first arrived I wasn't super excited about it being a flashback side story as we were in the barren desert between seasons 2 and 3, but its a good story and turned out to be relevant to season 3

I really enjoyed the first graphic novel Through the Moon, so I had to check out this one and wasn't disappointed.

Set before the start of the series, we follow Rayla after her parents have gone to protect the egg of the Dragon Prince. After initially struggling to adjust to living with her guardians Runaan and his husband Ethari, Rayla stumbles upon a Skywing elf boy who says his family have been taken hostage by a mysterious woman known as the Bloodmoon Huntress for a sinister ritual. Will Rayla and her new family be able to stop the Huntress in time?

This was an enjoyable story that adds a bit of mystery to the universe of The Dragon Prince, and I hope we see more of this in the show!

This a is nice filler to have in between the long season break, and it ties directly into the main story.

o livro chegou em ótimas condições e antes do prazo. Uma história muito boa pra quem queira conhecer um pouco mais do passado da rayla, onde na história somos oficialmente apresentados aos pais dela e entendemos melhor como era a sua relação com Runan e Etari.

The graphic novel was a very fun read. It's a little on the short side, but compared to other graphic novels, it's a decent length. The illustrations and art are decent enough, but the colours and story are very well done. The character designs of a few new characters were done very well and overall the quality was quite good. If you're a fan of the Dragon Prince, I highly recommend giving this graphic novel a read. It gives great detail on Rayla's childhood and her relationship with Ethari and Runaan.
