Facial Gua sha: A Step-by-step Guide to a Natural Facelift (REVISED EDITION) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 24 ratings

In this revised edition of the classic much-loved Facial Gua sha book, Clive Witham, author of the Gua Sha, Facial Gua sha and Holographic Gua sha series, brings his 20-year Gua sha expertise to show you how your body can influence your face and how you can activate the vitality of your skin and muscle tone through ancient Chinese ideas of the natural world.

Many people are unaware that Facial Gua sha is far more than a collection basic stokes on the face and Clive shows you how to see this elegant anti-aging beauty technique through the lens of ancient Chinese wisdom. With sections on Gua sha tools, an introduction to Ecology in Motion and over 100 colour illustrations, he comprehensively shows the muscles, channels and points involved in each part of the face and then how to complete five Gua sha sequences on your face, head, body, arms and legs to optimize your whole face and neck area.

With this ecological approach to beauty, now you can unlock your potential and look and feel your best, both on the inside and outside.

Ecology in Motion
Facial Gua sha

THE EIM GUA SHA WORLD

Facial Gua sha: A Step-by-step Guide to a Natural Facelift is part of the Ecology in Motion Gua sha World. Ecology in Motion is the application of nature-based Chinese medicine and, in terms of Facial Gua sha, it provides you with the foundation of what you do. It brings the motion of the natural world into your treatments and allows you to connect to the original Chinese medicine which underlies Facial Gua sha.

REVISED EDITION

This is the newer revised edition and is part of a set of online courses, live workshops, podcasts and books to show how nature plays a major role in how Gua sha is used. Facial Gua sha is largely misunderstood and has been co-opted by other professions to create an overly simplified and superficial idea of stroking the skin and moving fluids. Facial Gua sha is far more than this.

RETURNING FACIAL GUA

We live in a time where many people want the soundbite. The quick fix. The instant certificate. The Instagram moment. They want lots of photos but little explanation. They want to get it and get it now. But that's not how understanding Facial Gua sha works. What this book will do is open the door to this whole area of knowledge and help to bring back Facial Gua sha to where it should be.

A wonderful, all encompassing guide. I love that this book breaks everything down into understandable sections, and gives some real insight into the benefits of Gua Sha and how it affects each area of the body, including organs.

The step by step guide is perfect and I’ve gotten into a real flow with it each morning. The entire routine takes me around 15 minutes and it sets me up for the day. I’ve actually been waking early just to incorporate it into my morning routine. I have been doing it consistently for around 4 weeks and notice a huge difference in my skin tone, texture and reduced fine lines. aesthetics aside, I have also never felt better, my generally well being has felt such a positive impact from this and it’s something I’ll continue to do forever.

Due to the single review on this edition of the book, I nearly did not buy it. I'm glad that I followed my instincts instead and gave it a try. I guess the other reviewer has vision problems, because the diagrams are super easy to see and understand and the text is comprehensive in it's explanations. It's truly not a big deal that you have to flip back to a diagram--the book would be much more pricey if there were multiple prints of the same full-color diagrams throughout. My suggestion, if you find flipping back and forth bothersome, is to take a photo with your smart phone or tablet and look on there instead. Otherwise this is by far the best native-English language book on the subject and will really give you a foundation for facial gua sha practice.

Lengthy book with intricate suggestions to practice Gua Sha. Strange, because Gua Sha was created thousands of years ago so that common folks could heal themselves at home and overcome different conditions and symptoms without going to a doctor. The techniques the author suggests are unnecessariky complicated and take too much time. Of course the author had to include them or the book would have been only 20 pages and sell for 2 dollars. The photos are excellent, the diagrams are awful.

Ok. I can get behind the science, but just give the instructions already.
