Never Say Die: Terrorist Thriller - a fast paced, gripping thriller full of action and suspense Kindle Edition
A Vigilante Justice Thriller
“Never Say Die” has all the hard hitting action & suspense you need!
Nick Harland has teamed up with Andy Ryan a special forces/ MI5 operator and the pair are tasked with tracking down a rogue SAS soldier who is on the loose and creating havoc across London in revenge for his unjust imprisonment. But the destruction that he is causing is all part of an elaborate deception which is designed to mask his true intentions. Harland and Ryan are now in a race against time to find him before he carries out one of the most daring, outrageous and audacious crimes of the 21st century.
Along with all the mayhem and tension created by the hunt for the SAS man there is a secondary story running parallel with the main one and this part of the story is unconnected to the main theme and remains so until the last chapter. Who is the mysterious unknown man found in a field in Essex with a gunshot wound to his head? The unconscious man is barely alive and is rushed to hospital where he undergoes emergency brain surgery and after a long period of recuperation he wakes from the coma.
The police are anxious to interview him as in the field where he was found were a dozen dead bodies riddled with bullet holes. They don't get the chance to interrogate to him as he decides to abscond from hospital. The stranger has near total memory loss and has no clue who he is or why he'd been shot and the search is now on to find his past life? And he's anxious to find out why someone wanted him dead?
˃˃˃ Never Say Die by Bill Carson delivers a whole lot of suspense and danger within these pages.
As an avid Doyle reader and NCIS watcher (not to mention the BBC's MI:5 starring Richard Armitage), I love mysteries set around a lot of action and suspense. Never Say Die by Bill Carson delivers a whole lot of suspense and danger within these pages.

˃˃˃ Suspenseful and fast-paced.
The skillful but deranged Steve Dark is on a mission that gets him into the chambers of someone very important. Detective Nick Harland is on the job. Somewhere else a man walks out of the hospital with no memory of who he is. Lives will be lost, some may never be found. Suspenseful and fast-paced.

About the author

Nobody will deny that serial killer crime thrillers have captivated the market for generations. My goal has always been to give readers all of the disturbing hallmarks they crave, while also pummelling them with highly-original characters and plot twists they have never come across before. I almost throw them into a movie and force them to be a character
I had my first paperback book published in 2005 which is called *Show No
Fear *the book is an autobiographical account of when I worked in
hi-profile nightclubs in London back in the nineties.
Writing that story stirred something inside me, and I enjoyed the writing experience so much that soon after *Show No Fear* was published I enrolled in an Open University fiction writing course. That was just over ten years ago, and since then I have written six other books which include several ebooks covering various subjects. I am now concentrating on my Detective Nick Harland crime thriller series.
I have written four crime thriller novels, *Necessary Evils* and its sequel *Nemesis*,
*Never Say Die* (my homage to the Ian Fleming novels) and my latest crime thriller fiction work *Dark City.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2015Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseNever Say Die is the third book in the Nick Harland series and I would really recommend that you read the first two books in the series so that you can fully enjoy the third one.
After reading Nemesis the second in the series I was really intrigued as to what the author had in store for us in the third book and I have to say I certainly was not disappointed.
If anything I was really surprised with Never Say Die, it is jam packed full of action with a storyline that involves prostitutes, Russian Mafia, MI5 and to top it all off an ex SAS soldier gone mad.
Nick Harland really has his work cut out this time. Luckily for him he has his ever faithful partner Anna by his side and long standing friend George to rely on to help him out.
I must admit to finding some parts of this book a bit far fetched, yet saying that I loved all of it. The author really just goes into this story with both guns blazing and makes for a truly enjoyable ride for the reader. There is even a surprising turn of events towards the end which I did not see coming at all and it has now left me eagerly waiting for the fourth in the series.
A great crime series that I can highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 January 2015Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseAnother great book by Bill. Gory and hard hitting in some places, but that is what I like about his writing. A fantastic (and surprising) twist at the end followed by a cliffhanger. The only thing letting this book down is the proof-reading. Although it doesn't detract from the grippiness of the book, it does become a little irritating when you have to re-read certain sentences to get the flow. PLEASE don't let this put you off purchasing this book as it was a great read.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 December 2014Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseThis is my kind of book, great plot and well defined characters with a story line that twists and turns and culminates well for an action packed ending.. A MUST READ!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 October 2016Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseThis is the third book, and it certainly kept me hooked. Prolific stories and very good continuation from the other two.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 September 2015Format: Kindle EditionI received this book free to read and review.
Somehow I missed reading this one which would have cleared up some of the details in the next book. It does however stand well on its own the main disadvantage of reading out of sequence is that you know who survives to the next book. Having said that this one starts with one of the characters reappearing from the previous book that I was quite sure had been killed off.
From this start the story switches to a whole new plot and away the story goes, in this there is a new rogue character that is intent on causing trouble to put it mildly at the very heart of the establishment.
Nick Hartland in this story joins up with the British “security services” to catch and eliminate this new character. The plot is tightly written and at the end when all is resolved a new character is revealed which provides continuity into the next book. I also found out what happened to the character that I thought dead from the previous book and it was not at all what I expected.
A good series which individually stand-alone but are much better when read in the correct order.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 December 2014Format: PaperbackApologies, but this was this year's BIG FAIL read for me and I am not sure where to start with the comments.
The editing was atrocious and it was the package deal : typos, and punctuation and grammar issues. There are mainly 4 and 5 star reviews on the UK and US Amazon sites, so other reviewers are either "friendlies" or people who are clearly less worried about poor editing than I am. If you can cope with the following style throughout a book, and this quote is offered verbatim, you may enjoy the novel more than I did : "Don't panic George its ok mate". That example flags another issue of very stilted dialogue throughout.
Sadly, the plot or story doesn't compensate for the editing problems either. A former policeman, now a private detective with financial troubles, together with a MI5 minder, are tasked with finding a former SAS soldier who has gone rogue and is about to commit atrocities. Strangely, these two dominate the search when a much wider effort would seem to have been called for. For reasons unclear to me, the police are totally marginalised in the process too.
There is also another story thread featuring a guy with amnesia who can't remember his name or what happened to him, but surprisingly manages to remember where a stash of cash was hidden.
There are a couple of twists and turns, but some of the story strands are not closed off properly either.
I suspect I will get hammered for this review, but there's no point in writing one if the feedback is not honest. And this was not a very good effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nick Harland may be the hero, but Steve Dark breathes through the pages.
Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseThere are few books that can keep two separate, and distinct story lines running - and keep them interesting, while not confusing the reader. "Never Say Die" by Bill Carson is one such novel, and it does it in a beautiful way.
Thriller, adventure, crime drama - this book has it all, playing well the military strengths of the Steve Dark, an ex - SAS agent who really had no idea why the people that he worked for locked him up. In his mind, his bosses betrayed him, set him up, dismissed him, dishonorably discharged him, then pulled the coup-de-grace by having him locked up for a year. The truth is a bit darker and revealed in bits and pieces as this tale progresses. Manipulative, demented and cruel, Steve was good at his job - too good. Now, with his mind telling him that payback is the best option, this make-shift security guard slips his leash and takes to the streets of London, Nick Harland fast on his tail.
Somewhere else in London, a man awakens in a Critical Care unit - the victim of a gunshot wound to the head. Suffering from Amnesia he has no idea why someone wanted to kill him, or why he was the only one left semi-alive in a body strewn blood bath; but he is determined to find out. He too, slips his leash, finding his feet on the rain soaked streets of London and fast into this Crime Noir that will keep you reading.
